This reminds me of a thing I byword on one of those “True Stories of the ER” shows. This woman insisted she had bugs breathing under her scalp, and she’d been to cardinal doctors who thought she was nuts. This doctor did too, until he saved two minuscule holes in her cutis. Then bubbles started coming out of the holes, then he saw a bug appear and later go back in. Eventually he was able to squish them out of the holes enough to grab them with extractor and pull them out.
Apparently once she was in Costa Rica some bug had either burrowed under her skin and bunch up housekeeping, or had laid eggs that following hatched.
I watched all this with horrified fascination, clutching my head and occasionally shouting AUUUUGH!
